Al-Dura Hoax

By oceanguy | May 21, 2008

A French Appeals Court, today, overturned a Lower Court’s decision that Philipe Karsenty had libeled Charles Enderlin and France 2 by pointing out that the iconic images of Mohammed Al-Dura and his father pinned down as the boy was killed was, at best, a staged event and was almost certainly a hoax. After viewing most of the rushes, that is most of the video filmed by Enderlin’s trusted palestinian stringer, the court’s ruling shows that there are major questions and doubts about the veracity of Enderlin’s report.

As expected Enderlin still stands by the story, apparently having convinced himself that the fairy tale is true and his stringer is a forthright and honest journalist. It will be interesting to see the written decision when the court eventually releases it.
